Oral prescription treatments are among the most effective, clinically backed solutions for hair loss. Designed to work from within, these treatments contain active ingredients proven to target the underlying causes of hair thinning, not just the symptoms.
Unlike temporary fixes, these treatments support long-term regrowth by addressing factors like hormones, nutrient deficiencies, or genetics. Each plan is personalised to your needs and goals.
Whether you’re seeing early signs of thinning or more advanced hair loss, prescription treatments offer a trusted, non-invasive option with a proven track record of visible results.
Hair transplants are a costly, high-impact option, usually considered when other treatments haven’t worked. The procedure moves healthy hair follicles to thinning areas to restore a fuller, natural-looking hairline. Results can be impressive, but the process is invasive, requires recovery, and can come with discomfort, swelling, or complications. Costs can reach tens of thousands. A transplant doesn’t stop ongoing hair loss, so maintenance treatments are often needed.
It’s important to have realistic expectations and discuss the potential risks and benefits with a qualified specialist before deciding.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a cosmetic treatment where your own concentrated plasma is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles and encourage regrowth.
It’s gained attention for its potential to improve hair density and slow thinning, especially in the early stages. Some people see visible improvement, and early research shows promising short-term results. Long-term effectiveness is still unclear, though, and results can vary from person to person.
Topical hair loss treatments, like minoxidil, are a common way to try and support hair regrowth. They work by boosting blood flow and nutrients to the hair follicles, which can help over time.
Results can vary and usually take a few months to show. You need to apply them every day, and for some people the improvement is moderate or short-lived. Since they don’t tackle the internal causes of hair loss, they’re often used alongside other treatments for the best result
Hair loss shampoos often promise to reduce shedding and thicken hair. Some can improve scalp health or make hair look fuller temporarily, but they don’t address the root causes of hair loss.
They may support healthier-looking strands and reduce breakage, but for hormonal or genetic hair loss, a shampoo alone won’t make a real difference. Useful as a support, but don’t expect major regrowth from a surface-level product.
Hair supplements are everywhere and often sold as an easy fix. The reality is, unless you’re low in key nutrients like iron, zinc, or biotin, vitamins alone won’t reverse hair loss.
In cases where thinning is linked to a nutritional issue, fixing the deficiency can support healthier growth.
For most people, especially those with hormonal or genetic causes, supplements have only a mild effect. They’re not a magic cure, more of a support for overall hair health, and unlikely to deliver real regrowth on their own.
From herbal teas to scalp massages and essential oils, natural remedies for hair loss often feel more comforting than clinical. While these methods are popular, there is little scientific evidence that they are effective, especially for hormonal or genetic hair loss.
Most natural approaches don’t address the root cause. At best, they may support general scalp health or reduce stress. At worst, they can delay people from trying treatments that actually work.
They are low-risk and low-cost, but usually, the results are limited.

More common questions
How will treatment stop my hair loss?
Good question! Depending on the work you want your treatment to do, it will contain ingredients designed to halt hair loss, promote regrowth, or nurture hair health.
Your treatment may contain medical grade ingredients which may reduce or completely stop the formation of a particular type of testosterone present on your scalp (DHT) that shrinks your hair follicles. Blocking DHT can halt the progression of your hair loss.
It may also or alternatively contain a clinical strength solution that may help increase blood flow and nutrients to your hair follicles to promote new growth and stop further hair loss.
How will the treatment grow my hair?
There are two types of hair growth taking place: growth and regrowth. Growth means the current hair on your head is improving over time. It’s quite easy for the treatment to improve the general quality, health, strength and thickness of the hair on your head.
Regrowth refers to producing new growth in places where you have lost hair and no new hair is coming through. It is entirely possible to produce regrowth but it can take a bit more time to achieve. When this new hair comes through, it will normally be less mature than the other hair on your head, and may at first appear wispy, lighter in colour, and finer.
With each ensuing hair growth cycle, the hair can continue to improve in thickness, strength, colour, and health, until it matches the rest of the hair on your head.
How does the treatment concentrate growth on the head?
Think about all the hair across your body (such as legs, arms, armpits, and the pubic region). It grows to a certain length and then falls out. The hair on your head will continue to grow and grow and grow until you get a haircut (in an ideal world!).
This is why the treatment usually concentrates the growth on your head and has clinically proven to be so effective. The hair follicles on your scalp have the greatest capacity for stimulation and receive more nutrients and blood than all your bodily follicles.
